The setup of a satellite dish has always been a complex task, especially when you lack any clues. That's why this application was created to simplify this process and enable you to install it without the need to call a specialist.

SatCatcher is an application that helps you align your antenna with any satellite. Using augmented reality, this application displays the target satellite in space to better select the antenna placement and ensure there are no potential obstacles (such as walls or trees).

SatCatcher also leverages GPS to show your position on a map and then displays the direction of the satellite from your location. The compass, accompanied by an audible beep, assists in aligning your antenna by following the acceleration of the beeps or the arrow on the compass. The accelerometer is used to verify that your antenna support is perfectly vertical.

The antenna calibration steps:

1. Choose a satellite and enable geolocation to calculate the antenna's orientation.
2. Display the satellite in augmented reality through your camera, ensure there are no obstacles, and validate your antenna placement.
3. Verify that your antenna support is vertically aligned.
4. Calculate polarization and adjust the rotation of the LNB (the head of your antenna).
5. Set the elevation.
6. Find the orientation using visual and auditory cues.
7. Fine-tune your settings.

For proper app functionality, SatCatcher requires access to your smartphone's camera, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, and GPS.

Tips:

• If your smartphone lacks GPS, you can manually move the marker on the map until it points to your exact position. Use zoom for increased precision.
• The compass is crucial for dish alignment; if your smartphone lacks one, you can still use the app. It helps you set markers based on the direction shown on the map from your position and calculate orientation. You can use a manual compass for alignment in this case.
• Ensure you recalibrate the compass regularly and avoid close proximity to the dish arm as it's sensitive to metallic elements. Try to place your smartphone where there's minimal magnetic interference.
